Bringing Climate Awareness to a Wider Community: My First English Climate Fresk Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City

Hosting my first English Climate Fresk workshop for the public in Ho Chi Minh City was an exciting and rewarding experience. This workshop was not just about raising climate awareness but also about making climate education accessible to a wider and more diverse audience. By conducting the session in English, I was able to engage both locals and expats, creating a unique platform for knowledge exchange and meaningful discussions on climate change.

I am incredibly proud of how this first-time facilitation in English turned out. All my participants rated my communication 5 out of 5 (excellent) during the workshop, which was a great validation of my efforts. What exceeded my expectations was that two participants were so inspired that they decided to become Climate Fresk facilitators themselves. This means we now have new collaborators for future workshops, expanding our reach and impact even further.

The discussion session was very engaging thanks to the lead of Mandy Truong. Participants from different professions such as aviation, accounting, education, energy, and more actively shared their perspectives on solutions brainstorming.

Unexpected Bonding Moment: A heavy rain came just as the workshop was finishing, giving participants extra time to continue discussions, connect, and exchange ideas in a cozy and collaborative atmosphere.

Climate Fresk is not just a climate change education tool; it is also an incredible opportunity for people to connect, share ideas, and build a strong network of sustainability advocates. This workshop was just the beginning. I plan to host more English Climate Fresk sessions in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to build a larger network of climate-conscious individuals who can drive change in their communities.
